I see my work as an ongoing exploration of drawing and painting, a series of studies that never ends and a kind of visual diary. I am not interested in finished pieces in as much as the accidental mark making that occurs during the process of making art. 

 

My practice is an attempt to document my internal and external landscapes, memory and dreams are central to my creative process as are real places, people and things, and although I draw from life my work is semi abstract; sometimes graphic and expressive. 

 

Most of my work is on paper, I like the immediacy of traditional drawing materials and the unpredictability and versatility of water colour. I am currently working on a fairly small scale; this self imposed constraint challenges me in how I deal with my subject matter and mark making.
