Sentimental Sources

Attached to our family home is a small garden at the back of the house. In this space there are plants, shrubs and trees planted by previous owners, and more recently my son. It has undergone periods of intense attention and careful cultivation as well as extreme neglect and indifference.

In this series of artworks I am challenged to make sense of the tangles of stems, leaves, and flowers. The colours and forms of growth and decay are interesting to me as well as the more intangible, personal stories behind them.
